1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Remove the gear motor assembly with the wiper linkage (see "Removal and installation of windshield wiper linkage assembly with gear motor").
3. Remove the gearmotor mounting bracket.
4. Use a screwdriver to press the clamp 1 securing the crank to the trapezoid joint and remove the crank from the joint. Unscrew the four bolts 2 and remove the gear motor.
5. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
