Possible clutch malfunctions, their causes and solutions (Power unit / Clutch / Ford Focus 2 2004-2010)

Warping of the driven disk (end runout more than 0.5 mm)	Straighten the disc or suede with a new one
Irregularities on the surfaces of the friction linings of the driven disk	Replace pads or driven disc assembly
Loose rivets or broken disc friction linings	Replace the pads, check the end runout of the disc
Jamming of the hub of the driven disk on the splines of the input shaft of the gearbox	Clean the splines, coat with LSTs-15 grease. If the cause of jamming is crushing or worn splines, then replace the input shaft or driven disk
Air in the hydraulic drive system	Bleed the system
Leakage of fluid from the hydraulic drive system through connections or damaged pipelines Leakage of fluid from the master cylinder or clutch slave cylinder	Tighten connections, replace damaged parts. bleed the hydraulic drive system Replace the master or slave cylinder
Loosening the compression spring fastening rivets	Replace clutch cover with pressure plate assembly

Jamming of the hub of the driven disk on the splines of the input shaft	Clean the splines, lubricate with LSTs-15 grease. If the cause of jamming is crushing or wear of the splines, then if necessary, replace the input shaft or driven disk
Lubrication of the friction linings of the driven disk, flywheel surfaces and pressure disk	Thoroughly rinse the oiled surfaces with white spirit and eliminate the cause of the oiling of the discs
Seizure in the clutch mechanism	Replace deformed parts. Eliminate causes of jamming
Increased wear of the friction linings of the driven disk	Replace the pads with new ones, check for damage to the disc surface
Loosening the rivets of the friction linings of the driven disk	Replace faulty rivets and, if necessary, linings
Surface damage or buckling of the pressure plate	Replace clutch cover with pressure plate assembly
Increased noise when disengaging the clutch
Worn, damaged or leaking lubricant from the clutch release bearing	Replace bearing
Increased noise when engaging the clutch
Breakage or reduction of elasticity of springs of a damper of a conducted disk	Replace driven disc assembly
Breakage, reduction of elasticity or jumping off of the fixing spring of the clutch fork	Replace clutch release fork
