You will need: a 13 mm socket head, sliding pliers, and a flat-blade screwdriver.
NOTE: For clarity, the work is shown with the instrument panel and steering column bracket removed.
1. Remove the cruise control switch from the pedal bracket (see "Replacing Cruise Control Switches").
NOTE: Since the clutch pedal is removed for replacement, the cruise control switch will have to be relocated to the new pedal. For ease of operation, it is best to remove it directly from the vehicle.
2. Disconnect the wire harness holder from the pedal bracket and move the harness to the side.
3. Using a screwdriver, press the two clamps (the second clamp is located on the opposite side of the pedal and is not visible in the photo) of the clutch release master cylinder pusher fork into the grooves of the pedal.
4. Using sliding pliers, grip the flange of the clutch release master cylinder and turn the cylinder counterclockwise by approximately 60° until the protrusions on its flange align with the cutouts in the hole in the pedal bracket.
5. Unscrew the four nuts securing the clutch pedal bracket to the front shield…
6. …and remove the pedal.
7. To replace the pedal return spring, detach its bent ends from the pedal lever and bracket.
8. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
