Replacing the lock, latch and button for opening the tailgate lock

You will need: T30 and T40 TORX wrenches, flat and Phillips screwdrivers.

To remove the tailgate lock do the following.

1. Open the tailgate.

2. Remove the lower part of the upholstery of the tailgate (cm. «Removal and installation of an upholstery of a door of a back»).



3. Disconnect from the lock of a door of a back block of a plait of wires.



4. Turn out three screws of fastening of the lock to the internal panel of a door …



5.... and remove the lock.




6. If it is necessary to replace the electric drive of the lock, unscrew the two screws securing it to the lock mechanism..



7.... press the lock with a screwdriver..



8.... and disconnect the electric drive and the lock mechanism.

9. Assemble and install the tailgate lock in the reverse order of disassembly and removal.

WARNING: Before assembling the lock «charge» its mechanism by sinking its lever until it clicks, otherwise the lever will break when the electric drive is installed.

10. Establish the bottom part of an upholstery of a door of a back (cm. «Removal and installation of an upholstery of a door of a back»).

To remove the latch of the tailgate lock do the following.

1. Remove the tailgate trim (cm. «Removal and installation of facings of a luggage carrier»).



2. Remove the two screws securing the latch to the back panel..



3.... and remove the latch.


4. Establish a latch of the lock of a door of a back in an order, the return to removal.

5. Establish facing of the panel of a back.



6. If the slamming of the tailgate is accompanied by a strike of the lock lever on the latch, adjust the position of the latch, for which, from the inside of the trunk, pry with a screwdriver..



7.... and remove the plugs in the tailgate lining located above the latch fastening screws on the right..



8.... and to the left of the window for the passage of the lock in the cladding.




9. Loosen the two screws securing the latch through the holes in the lining and, moving the latch in the transverse or longitudinal direction, achieve a shock-free slamming of the door. Then tighten the latch fixing screws.

10. Establish plugs of openings in facing of the panel of a back.

To remove the tailgate release button do the following.

1. Remove the tailgate trim (cm. «Removal and installation of a decorative overlay of a door of a back»).



2. Squeeze the latches located on the sides of the tailgate lock release button..



3.... and remove the button from the pad socket.

4. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
