Withdrawal. lock cylinder
Open the tailgate, unscrew the 7 screws and remove the door trim. Unscrew the screw and remove the lock cylinder bracket or unscrew the 2 lock nuts securing the lock cylinder (see fig. 11.52).
Withdrawal. Lock
Open the rear door and remove the lock cylinder. Unscrew the 3 Togh bolts and remove the lock (see fig. 11.53).
Withdrawal. Striker plate
Use a soft pencil to mark the installation position of the locking plate. Unscrew the 2 Tox screws and remove the lock striker plate (see fig. 11.54). Separate the cable from the lock plate.
Withdrawal. Cable
Remove the locking plate and disconnect the cable from it. Unscrew and remove the interior trim of the front and rear door sills on the driver's side. Unscrew the carpet from the tailgate opening handle. Remove the cable sheath from the grooves in the lever mounting plate and disconnect the cable from the lever. Remove the tailgate release cable from the vehicle.
Installation
Installation is made in sequence, return to removal.
