Checking and adjusting the hatch (Escort 5)

Open and close the sunroof. The sunroof cover should not stick when closing. Check that the sunroof cover matches the contour of the roof and adjust if necessary.

To make adjustments, open the hatch cover. Unscrew the 3 screws securing the lower frame to the glass cover. Slide the lower frame into the cover (see Fig. 11.56).



Loosen the fastening bolts at the front and in the middle. Set the front edge of the glass cover at the level of the roof outline and tighten the bolts again (see Fig. 11.57). The adjustment tolerance is 1 mm.



Loosen the bolts securing the rear and middle sections. Set the rear edge of the glass cover level with the roof outline and tighten the bolts again. The adjustment tolerance is 2 mm. Move the lower frame forward and screw the glass cover with three bolts.
