Starter (1.8L/2.0L/1.6L Zetec-E) (Focus 1)

Removal

1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. For additional information, refer to Section 414-01.

2. Disconnect the mass air flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector.



3. Disconnect the breather tube (air cleaner filter outlet pipe shown removed for clarity).



4. Disconnect the air cleaner filter outlet pipe from the throttle body and remove the air cleaner filter.



5. Remove the upper starter bolts.





6. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Section 100-02 for additional information.

7. Disconnect the starter electrical connector.



8. Remove the starter.

Installation

1. Install the elements back in place in reverse order.
