Starter (1.8L/2.0L/1.6L Zetec-E)

Withdrawal

1. Disconnect a wire of weight from the accumulator. See Section 414-01 for more information.

2. Disconnect the electrical connector of the mass air flow sensor (MAF).



3. Disconnect the breather tube (air cleaner outlet piping shown removed for clarity).



4. Disconnect the air filter outlet pipe from the throttle body and remove the air filter.



5. Turn out the top bolts of a starter.



6. Raise and support the vehicle. See Section 100-02 for more information.

7. Disconnect the starter electrical connector.



8. Remove the starter.

Installation

1. Replace the elements in reverse order.
