Removal



1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Disconnect the starter wire from the solenoid and, where applicable, from the threaded pin on the end cap (see figure 8.2,a,b).

3. Unscrew the three bolts securing the starter. Please note that on some types of motors the ground cable is secured by one of the bolts (see Figure 8.3). Remove the starter from the engine.

Installation



4. Install in the reverse order of removal. Make sure the wires are securely connected.
