Removal
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Section 100-02 for additional information.
2. Remove the crankshaft pulley splash shield.
3. Using a suitable knife, cut the accessory drive belt and remove it.
Installation
NOTE: Install a new accessory drive belt.
1. Using paint or correction fluid, mark the crankshaft pulley at the 6 o'clock position.
2. Install the installation tool (supplied in the spare parts kit) onto the crankshaft pulley at the 6 o'clock position.
3. Install the accessory drive belt.
- 1. Place the belt on the generator pulley.
- 2. Place the belt on the power steering pump pulley.
- 3. Place the belt on the water pump pulley.
- 4. Place the belt on the installation tool.
4. Make sure the accessory drive belt is correctly positioned in the pulley grooves.

NOTE: The engine should only be turned in the normal direction of crankshaft rotation.
Turn the engine until the paint mark is at the 8 o'clock position.

NOTE: The curved end of the tool fits around the belt and the bent end of the tool fits around the bracket.
Install the belt guide tool (supplied in the spare parts kit) onto the accessory drive belt and the alternator support bracket.

NOTE: The engine should only be turned in the normal direction of crankshaft rotation.
Turn the engine until the paint mark is at the 3 o'clock position.
8. Remove the installation tool from the crankshaft pulley. Discard the installation tool as it is no longer needed.
9.
NOTE: The engine should only be turned in the normal direction of crankshaft rotation.
Rotate the engine another 360 degrees.
10. Check that the accessory drive belt is correctly positioned in the pulley grooves.
- If the accessory drive belt is crooked, repeat the installation procedure.
11. Remove the belt guide tool from the accessory drive belt.
- Discard the belt guide tool as it is no longer needed.
12. Install the crankshaft pulley splash shield.
13. Lower the vehicle.
