Accessory Drive Belt — Removal and Installation

Removal


All cars

1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. For additional information, refer to Section 414-01.

2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Section 100-02 for additional information.

3. Remove the mudguard.



Cars with 1.4L or 1.6L engine (100 hp)

NOTE: On vehicles with 1.4L or 1.6L (100 PS) engines equipped with air conditioning, the accessory drive belt tensioner rotates counterclockwise.


Remove the accessory drive belt.
  • 1. Turn the accessory drive belt tensioner clockwise.
  • 2. Remove the accessory drive belt.



Cars with 1.6L (90 hp), 1.8L or 2.0L engine

5. Remove the accessory drive belt.
  • 1. Turn the accessory drive belt tensioner clockwise.
  • 2. Remove the accessory drive belt.



Installation


1. Install the elements back in place in reverse order.
