Global Positioning System (GPS) Antenna (Focus 1)

Removal

1. Remove the A-pillar trim panel. Refer to Section 501-05 for additional information.

2. Remove the passenger air bag module. Refer to Section 501-20A / 501-20B for additional information.

3. Remove the upper instrument panel mounting bolts.



4. Remove the glove compartment.



5. Disconnect the GPS antenna in-line electrical connector from the telematics control module electrical connector.



6. Remove the audio unit. For additional information, refer to Section 415-01.



7. Remove the lower instrument panel trim panel on the driver's side.



8. Remove the instrument cluster. For additional information, refer to Section 413-01.

9. Remove the ashtray.



10. Disconnect the instrument panel trim.

• 1. Remove the screws.
• 2. Disconnect the clamps.

11. Remove the instrument panel mounting bolt.





12. Remove the instrument panel mounting bolts.



13. Remove the instrument panel mounting bolts (left side shown, similarly for the right side).

NOTE: Make sure that the instrument panel does not contact the passenger side air bag module mounting bracket.

Disconnect the instrument panel.



15. Remove the GPS antenna.

• Discard the self-adhesive gasket.

16. Clean the mating surface of the cross beam.

Installation

1.

NOTE: Install new A-pillar trim panel clips.

Install all elements back in place in reverse order.
