Sliding sunroof motor initialization update


WARNING: The sunroof pinch prevention function is not effective when the sliding sunroof motor initialization update procedure is performed. Make sure that there are no foreign objects in the opening of the sliding sunroof. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.


NOTE: This procedure should only be performed if the sunroof motor has not been disconnected.


NOTE: Sliding sunroof alignment must be performed prior to initializing the sunroof motor. For more information, refer to the Sliding Sunroof Alignment chapter in this section.


1. Press and hold the sunroof switch in the up/close position until the sunroof is in the full open/ventilate position.

2. Release the sunroof switch.

3. Press and hold the sunroof switch in the up/close position for 30 seconds until there is a slight movement (approximately 2 mm) and the sunroof motor will not stop.

4. Release the sunroof switch.

5. Press and hold the sunroof switch in the up/close position again for 0.5 seconds until the sunroof stops (one complete cycle).

NOTE: This procedure is required when installing any sunroof or sliding sunroof motor.



NOTE: Sliding sunroof alignment must be performed prior to initializing the sunroof motor. For more information, refer to the Sliding Sunroof Alignment chapter in this section.


1. Press and hold the sunroof switch in the up/close position.

2. Release the sunroof switch.

3. Press and hold the sunroof switch in the up/close position again for 0.5 seconds until the sunroof stops (one complete cycle).

Erasing the initialization of the sunroof motor


NOTE: The erasing procedure should only be performed if the sunroof motor has been disconnected from the sunroof.


NOTE: This procedure must be performed before installing a previously used sliding sunroof motor.


1. Connect the electrical connector of the sunroof motor.

2. Press and hold the sunroof switch in the up/close position until the sunroof motor stops.

3. Release the sunroof switch.

4. Press and hold the sunroof switch in the up/close position for 30 seconds. When the sunroof switch is held down, the sunroof motor rotates in one direction.

5. Release the sunroof switch.

6. Press the sunroof switch to the release/open position. If the sunroof motor does not rotate, the erasing procedure is successful.

7. If the sunroof motor rotates (when the sunroof switch is pressed in the lower/open position), repeat the procedure.
