Cable and sunroof guide — removal and installation

Withdrawal


1. Remove the glass panel of the sliding sunroof. For more information, refer to the Sliding Sunroof Glass Panel chapter in this section.

2. Disconnect the water outlet.

CAUTION: Make sure the two hoist deflector stops are not in contact with the roof panel.


Lift the front of the lift deflector and disconnect it from the roof panel.



4. Remove the hoist deflector.
  • Use a small screwdriver to remove the adjusting tabs from the hinges.



5. Remove the sliding sunroof glass panel guide arms.




6. Bend the sunroof cable guides toward the rear of the sunshade panel.

NOTE: Care must be taken to avoid breaking the plastic dowel pins located at the rear of the shade panel.


NOTE: Two guide pins are attached to the back of the shade panel.


Remove the curtain panel. Remove 16 screws.



8. Disconnect the cable from the sliding sunroof trim.



9. Remove cable and guide.


  • 1. Move the guide forward.
  • 2. Detach the guide from the guide rail.



Installation


1. Install cable and guide.
  • 1. Insert the guide into the guide rail.
  • 2. Move the guide to the back of the guide rail.



2. Align both cable guides with the guide pin that marks the screw hole.



3. Fit the cable to the sliding sunroof trim.

CAUTION: Do not move the opening mechanism.


NOTE: Make sure the two guide pins are in the correct position on the back of the shade panel.


NOTE: 10 front screws are plastic, six side screws are metal.


Position the shade panel in the desired position over the sunroof frame.
  • Install 10 front screws.



5. Move the cable guide to the back of the frame.

CAUTION: Make sure the plastic studs on the back of the shade panel are properly engaged in the guide rails.


Attach the curtain panel.
  • Install the remaining six screws.



7. Install the sliding sunroof glass guide arms.




8. Fix the water drain channel.

NOTE: Make sure the rubber stops are properly engaged in the lift deflector.


Install the lift deflector.

CAUTION: Make sure the two hoist deflector stops are not in contact with the roof panel.


Lower the lift deflector inside the roof panel.



11. Install the sunroof glass panel. For more information, refer to the Sliding Sunroof Glass Panel chapter in this section.

12. Adjust the position of the glass panel of the sliding sunroof. For more information, refer to the Sliding Sunroof Alignment chapter in this section.

CAUTION: Make sure the handle is aligned with the notch in the overhead console. If the handle is not in the correct position, the cable guides need to be re-adjusted.


Move the sunroof from fully open to fully closed position.
