Roof Sunroof Cable and Guide — Removal and Installation

Removal

1. Remove the sunroof glass panel. For more information, refer to the Sunroof Glass Panel chapter in this section.

2. Disconnect the water drainage channel.

CAUTION: Make sure the two stoppers of the liftgate do not contact the roof panel.

Lift the front section of the liftgate deflector and disconnect it from the roof panel.



4. Remove the lift mechanism deflector.

• Using a small screwdriver, detach the mounting tabs from the hinges.

5. Remove the sunroof glass panel guide arms.




6. Bend the sunroof cable guides toward the rear of the sunroof panel.

NOTE: Care must be taken to avoid damaging the plastic mounting pins located at the rear of the curtain panel.

NOTE: Two guide pins are attached to the back of the curtain panel.

Remove the curtain panel. Remove 16 screws.



8. Disconnect the cable from the sunroof trim.



9. Remove the cable and guide.

• 1. Move the guide forward.
• 2. Disconnect the guide from the guide rail.

Installation

1. Install the cable and guide.

• 1. Insert the guide into the guide rail.
• 2. Move the guide to the back of the guide rail.

2. Align both cable guides with the guide pin marking the screw hole.



3. Install the cable onto the sunroof surround.

CAUTION: Do not move the opening mechanism.

NOTE: Make sure the two guide pins are in the proper position on the back of the curtain panel.

NOTE: 10 front screws are plastic, six side screws are metal.

Position the sunroof panel in the desired position over the sunroof surround.

• Install the 10 front screws.

5. Move the cable guide to the rear of the frame.

CAUTION: Make sure the plastic mounting pins at the rear of the shade panel are properly secured in the guide rails.

Secure the curtain panel.

• Install the remaining six screws.

7. Install the sunroof glass guide arms.




8. Secure the water drainage channel.

NOTE: Make sure the rubber stoppers are properly secured in the lift deflector.

Install the lifting mechanism deflector.

CAUTION: Make sure the two stoppers of the liftgate do not contact the roof panel.

Lower the liftgate deflector into the roof panel.



11. Install the sunroof glass panel. For more information, refer to the Sunroof Glass Panel chapter in this section.

12. Adjust the position of the sunroof glass panel. For more information, refer to the Aligning the Sunroof section in this section.

CAUTION: Make sure the handle is aligned with the recess in the overhead console. If the handle is not in the correct position, the cable guides will need to be readjusted.

Move the sunroof from the fully open to the fully closed position.
