Body system

The body frame consists of the following elements:
  • front section side members with zones designed to deform in the event of a collision
  • transverse reinforcement on the body partition
  • all sheet metal surfaces subject to corrosion are galvanized.
  • removable front fenders with bolt-on fastening.

Insulation

The insulation consists of urethane, PVC, foam and recycled felt. The insulation is installed:
  • above and below the instrument panel,
  • on the side panels of the hood,
  • above the sections of the front trough-shaped floor element and the rear trough-shaped floor element,
  • above the luggage compartment floor.

Type and application of body sealant

Sealant for clamping flanges

Use a clamp flange sealant that meets Ford specification ESK-M4G245-A, which does not run, dries quickly and remains semi-flexible. This sealant can be used to seal seams, for example, in the following areas:
  • front floor panel and rear floor panel,
  • inner wheel arch panel and outer wheel arch panel,
  • instrument panel,
  • body trim panel,
  • door flanges.

Also use clamp flange sealant meeting Ford specification ESK-M4G245-A to seal the exterior clamp holes of the moldings, windshield, rear window, and side window quarters.

Anti-corrosion materials

Use locally produced sealants and anti-corrosion materials that penetrate through the weld joint to treat all body elements.
