Aligning the position of the hood — removal and installation

Adjustment


1.
NOTE: Adjusting the position of the hood cover without a lock


Remove the hood latch. See Section 501-14A for more information.

2.
NOTE: The position of the rear of the hood in relation to the height of the fenders cannot be adjusted.


Loosen the hood hinge screws about half a turn.



3. Adjust the position of the hood in the longitudinal direction.
  • 1. Adjust the position of the hood so that the trailing edges of the wing and the edge of the hood are in line.
  • 2. Check that the gaps in relation to the left and right wings are parallel, and correct them if necessary.



4. Adjust the gaps in relation to the left and right wings.
  • The gaps in relation to the wings must be the same size on both sides. The gaps can be leveled by opening the hood, then fixing the lid with a support stand and adjusting the gaps by pushing the lid to the left or right.



5. Tighten the screws.

NOTE: The hood must lie flat on both rubber buffers.


Adjust the front of the hood to the height of the fenders.
  • Adjust the hood to the height of the fenders using the rubber buffers.



7.
NOTE: Clearances and edge alignment must be corrected prior to installing the hood latch.


Install the hood latch.
  • The hood lock should be installed in such a way that the hood closes without force, and the gaps on the left and right do not change.
