Inspection and verification
1. Clarify the customer's complaint by verifying that the system is working correctly.
2. Check visually for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage.

3. If an obvious cause of a customer-reported or identified fault is identified, correct the fault (if it is possible) before moving on to the next step.
4. If the cause is not visually obvious, connect the diagnostic unit to the data link connector and select the vehicle to be checked from the menu of the diagnostic unit.
5. Trigger the DTCs and refer to the Symptom Chart.
