Diagnostic Instructions - Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) - Vehicles Built Since 08.2002.

Inspection and verification


1. Clarify the customer's complaint by checking that the system is working correctly.

2. Check visually for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage.

  • Fuse Box(s)

3. If an obvious cause for a customer-reported or identified fault is identified, correct the fault (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.

4. If the cause is not visually obvious, connect the diagnostic unit to the data link connector and select the vehicle to be tested from the diagnostic unit menu.

5. Retrieve DTCs and refer to the Symptom Table.
