Diagnostic Instructions - Airbag and Pretensioner Restraint System (SRS) — Vehicles manufactured up to 08/2002.

Inspection and verification

1. Check the validity of the customer's complaint by activating the system.

2. Perform a visual check for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage.

Visual Inspection Table

Electrical factors:
  • Fuse (And)
  • electrical connector (s)
  • Chain (And)
  • Wiring harness
  • Module (And) airbags
  • Bulb

3. If there is an obvious cause for the reported or received complaint, correct the problem (if it is possible) before moving on to the next step.

4. If the cause is not visually obvious, connect the diagnostic unit to the data link connector and select the vehicle to be checked from the menu of the diagnostic unit.

5. Trigger the DTCs and refer to the Symptom Chart.
