Removing the hood lock

Unlock the hood with the ignition key. The lock drum is located behind the grille Ford emblem. From experience, the lock drum, with poor care, is prone to periodic jamming. In order to be able to thoroughly remove street dirt and salt deposits from the lock mechanism, it is recommended to dismantle the hood latch assembly.

All models

Remove the lock plate.

Remove the grille (arrows).



Disconnect the connector on the hood latch.

Air-conditioned models only

Raise the front of the vehicle securely.

Dismantle the mudguard.

Disconnect the wire connector on the horn.

Remove the radiator bracket. Fix the radiator and AC condenser to the lower hose with a suitable wire.

Lower the car.

Support the radiator with a suitable wire at the top hose.

All models

Mark the position of the hood lock with a felt-tip pen - dismantle the lock.



When mounting, mount all structural elements in reverse order.

Tighten the radiator bracket mounting bolts to 25 Nm.
