Disassembly



1. Clamp the steering column in a vice with soft jaws.

2. Remove the plastic cover from the steering wheel hub.

3. Loosen the steering wheel nut.

4. Remove the turn signal switch cam and steering wheel shaft upper bearing spacer.

5. Disconnect the steering wheel shaft from the deformable bushing.

6. Using a suitable lever, remove the upper and lower bearings of the steering wheel shaft.

7. Remove the bottom support pad and spring.

8. Remove the lower nylon ring of the steering wheel shaft.

9. Turn the key in the ignition switch to position "1".

10. Press the clip and remove the steering wheel lock drum.

11. Unscrew the ignition switch mounting bolts and remove it together with the electrical wiring harness.

Assembly



1. Check the condition of the steering column elements (see fig. Steering) and whether the hexagonal shaft section is covered with oil or grease.



2. Clamp the steering wheel shaft in a vise, install the lower nylon ring on the shaft at an appropriate distance (X = 52 mm; Y = 189±3 mm).

3. Install the bearings into the shaft sleeve.

4. Install the spring and bottom bearing spacer onto the shaft.


5. Install the bushing, upper bearing pad and turn signal off cam onto the shaft.

6. Install the steering wheel at the end of the shaft, tighten the fastening nut and install the artificial material cover on the steering wheel hub.

Attention! The distance between the welded shaft seal and the lower bearing must be 12±1 mm. If this condition is not met, the steering wheel shaft must be replaced.
