- FORD SCORPIO with petrol engine - SAE10W30
- FORD SCORPIO with diesel engine - SAE15W40
Since the application areas of adjacent SAE classes overlap, short-term fluctuations in ambient temperature may not be taken into account. It is permissible to mix oils of different viscosity classes with each other if it is necessary to top up the oil level and the ambient temperature no longer corresponds to the viscosity class of the oil in the engine.

Motor oil specification
The quality of motor oil is designated according to the standards of car and oil manufacturers.
Classification of motor oils by American oil manufacturers is given according to the API system (API - American Petroleum Institute): the designation consists of two letters. The first letter indicates the area of application: S (Service) - the oil is used in gasoline engines; C (Commercial) - oil is used in diesel engines. The second letter indicates the quality (group of operational properties) in alphabetical order. According to the API specification, SH oil for gasoline engines and CF oil for diesel engines have the highest quality.
European oil manufacturers specify the CCMC specification. In doing so, they primarily take into account the features of European engine technology. Depending on their quality, oils for gasoline engines are divided into classes from CCMC-PD1 to CCMC-G5; motor oils for diesel engines of passenger cars are available in the CCMC-PD1 specifications and the CCMC-PD2 specification for premium oils.
The European Commission CCMC originated from ACEA (Association des Constructeurs Europeens de I'Automobile), which sets other criteria and quality gradations. Depending on the quality according to the ACEA classification, oils for gasoline engines are divided into groups from A1-96 to AZ-96; motor oils for diesel engines are divided into grades from B1-96 to B3-96.
Note: Motor oils that are designated by the oil manufacturer as oils for diesel engines are not suitable for gasoline engines. Motor oils that are suitable for both gasoline and diesel engines have both specifications on the oil packaging (e.g. CCMC-G5/PD2 or API SH/CD).
