Oil pressure check

Gas engine

Warm up the engine during the trip, the oil temperature should be at least + 80°C. Under normal circumstances, this engine oil temperature is reached after about 10 km of travel.



Disconnect electrical cable from hydraulic switch -arrow- and unscrew hydraulic switch. The picture shows a V6 engine.

Screw an oil pressure gauge with a suitable flange into the hole for the hydraulic switch.

Start the engine, let it run at the reference speed, and read the oil pressure.

Unscrew the oil pressure gauge.

Apply sealant, e.g. Loctite 242, to 2-3 threads of the hydraulic switch, screw in the hydraulic switch and tighten to 15 Nm (for DOHC engine torque 20 Nm).

If the oil pressure does not correspond to the prescribed value, proceed in accordance with the instructions in chapter "Oil Circulation Troubleshooting".
