1) When the piston of cylinder 1 is at TDC, turn the scale of the linear travel indicator so that the instrument pointer points to O. When the distance from the piston to TDC as it approaches TDC is 2.85 mm, the indicator should show the value that is on the plastic cover on the side of the fuel injection pump. To measure the piston movement, remove the valve spring and place the valve on the piston.
