Steering column height adjuster

Disassembly
1. Remove the synthetic material cover from the steering wheel hub.
2. Unscrew the steering wheel mounting nut.
3. Insert the key into the ignition switch and set it to position "I".
4. Remove the steering wheel.
5. Loosen the upper clamp adjustment bolt.
6. Release the regulator by inserting a screwdriver blade between its slits and remove the lower bearing.
7. Unscrew the 5mm regulator housing bolt and remove the shaft from the steering column.
8. Remove the spring, washer and lower bearing from the shaft.
9. At the bottom of the shaft, remove the nylon bushing and spring ring.
10. Remove the multifunction switch.
11. Press the clamp and remove the steering wheel lock drum.
12. Unscrew the ignition switch mounting bolts and remove it along with the electrical wiring harness.
13. Remove the steering column height adjuster. Be careful when disassembling the adjuster, as the spring is under tension.
14. Press the upper bearing out of the steering column.
Assembly
1. Check the condition of the steering column components. Check if the faceted section of the shaft is covered with oil or grease.

2. Clamp the steering wheel shaft in a vice, install the lower nylon ring on the shaft at a distance of 54±1 mm from the lower end of the shaft.
3. Install the steering column height adjuster.
4. Install the lower bearing into the regulator bushing.
5. Install the upper bearing into the steering column housing.
6. Install the ignition switch and multifunction switch.
7. Install the spring and washer onto the shaft.
8. Insert the shaft into the steering column housing.
9. Tighten the steering column height adjuster mounting screw.
10. Install the steering wheel on the end of the shaft, tighten the mounting nut and install the synthetic material cover on the steering wheel hub.
