Ford Fusion cars are available in three trim levels:
- basic Core package — front airbags for driver and passenger, side airbags, anti-lock brakes (ABS) with electronic brake force distribution (EBD), front fog lights, immobilizer (passive anti-theft system PATS), height adjustment of the driver's seat, tilt-adjustable steering column, hydraulic power steering, body-colored bumpers, black protective inserts and side moldings, rear seats with folding backrests and cushions, outside rearview mirrors with manual adjustment from the passenger compartment, luggage compartment lighting, tachometer, 15-inch steel wheels, radio preparation;
- trend package (addition to Core) – front electric windows, central locking with remote control, exterior rear-view mirrors with electric adjustment and electric heating, painted in body colour, audio system with radio and CD player, leather steering wheel trim, function of soft switching off of interior lighting, possibility of folding backrest of front passenger seat, remote release of tailgate from inside, interior door lock handles with matt aluminium trim;
- elegance package (addition to Trend) – air conditioning, remote control of the audio system from the control panel under the steering wheel, personal lighting for the driver and front passenger, leather-trimmed gear lever knob, polished aluminum gear lever gaiter frame, chrome grille surround, body-colored outer door handles, matte silver steering wheel trim, armrest.

Ford Fusion cars are equipped with transversely located four-cylinder 16-valve petrol engines (1.2, 1.4, 1.6 Duratec) or diesel engines (1.4, 1.6 Duratorq).
To comply with the Euro-4 environmental toxicity standards, the exhaust system is equipped with a catalytic converter (a catalytic converter, structurally implemented in one block with the exhaust manifold). Additionally, to reduce the toxicity of the exhaust gases, the engine is equipped with a recirculation system.
The body is a five-door station wagon, load-bearing, all-metal, welded construction with hinged front wings, hood and doors. The windshield, rear side windows and rear door glass are glued in. The driver's and front passenger's seats are adjustable in the longitudinal direction and by the angle of the backrest and are equipped with headrests. Additionally, the driver's seat is equipped with a cushion height adjustment. The backrest of the rear seat can be folded forward in parts in a ratio of 3:2.
The transmission is front-wheel drive with constant velocity joints. The standard configuration of the cars is a mechanical five-speed Durashift gearbox or an improved mechanical five-speed robotic Durashift EST gearbox with a sequential manual shift mode that does not require pressing the clutch pedal, in combination with a 1.4-liter gasoline engine or a four-speed automatic transmission for 1.6-liter engines.
Front suspension is MacPherson type, independent, spring, with anti-roll bar, with hydraulic shock absorbers. Rear suspension is semi-independent, spring, with hydraulic shock absorbers.
The front wheel brakes are disc brakes with a floating caliper, the rear ones are drum brakes with an automatic clearance adjustment device between the brake shoes and drums. The brake system is equipped with a vacuum booster and an anti-lock braking system (ABS) with an electronic brake force distribution system (EBD).
The steering is trauma-safe, with a rack-and-pinion steering mechanism and hydraulic booster. Front airbags are installed in the steering wheel hub and on the right side of the instrument panel above the glove compartment, and side airbags are installed in the backs of the front seats. Additionally, curtain airbags are installed above the side windows in the trim panels. The presence of airbags in the car is indicated by a sign in the places where they are installed (AIRBAG).
Some of the produced cars are equipped with electric front window lifts.
The cars are equipped with inertia seat belts for the driver and all passengers. Additionally, the driver and front passenger seat belts are equipped with belt pretensioners.
