Check coolant hoses for porosity by bending and squeezing, replace hardened hoses.

The hoses should not be too short at the fittings.

Check the tightness of the hose clamps. If necessary, install new hose screw clamps instead of the old ones with clamps.

Check the sealing gasket for damage.

Check the radiator drain plug for tightness.

If the coolant level drops frequently and it is impossible to eliminate the leak, check the cooling system with the engine warmed up. To do this, warm up the engine while driving and idle until the fan turns on. Check if coolant has leaked out in the area of the coolant pump.

Significant coolant leakage and/or oil in the coolant, as well as white clouds in the exhaust gases when the engine is warm, are signs of a faulty cylinder head gasket.

Attention! It is quite difficult to determine the location of the leak. Therefore, it is recommended to perform a pressure test, see p. 3.4. At the same time, you can also check the pressure reducing valve of the shut-off cap.
