1. Apply the parking brake and place wheel chocks under the rear wheels. Jack up the front of the car and place it on supports. Remove the wheel.
2. Remove the hub bolt, holding the wheel hub from turning with a tire iron.
3. Remove the brake caliper without disconnecting the brake hose from it (see Replacing the front brake caliper), and tie it, for example, to the brake hose mounting bracket, without allowing the hose to be pulled or kinked.
4. Disconnect the steering knuckle and shock absorber strut (see Removing and installing shock absorber strut).
5. Press the ball joint pin out of the steering knuckle boss (see Replacing the ball joint).
6. Disconnect the steering tie rod end from the steering knuckle (see Replacing the Outer Tie Rod End).
7. Remove the steering knuckle assembly with the front wheel hub, removing the tailpiece of the outer constant velocity joint of the front wheel drive from the hub.
8. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
9. Check and, if necessary, adjust the wheel alignment angles (see Checking and adjusting wheel alignment angles).
