Removal and installation of a rotary fist

You will need: all tools to remove the ball joint, mounting blade.



1. Brake the vehicle with the parking brake and set the wheel chocks ("shoes") under the rear wheels. Raise the front of the vehicle with a jack and place it on stands. Remove the wheel.



2. Turn out a bolt of a nave, holding a mounting vane a nave of a wheel from turning.



3. Remove the brake caliper without disconnecting the brake hose from it (refer to Front Wheel Brake Caliper Replacement), and tie, for example, to the brake hose mounting bracket, avoiding tension or kinks in the hose.


4. Separate the steering knuckle and shock absorber (see Removing and installing shock absorber strut).



5. Press the ball joint pin out of the steering knuckle boss (see Ball joint replacement).



6. Disconnect the tie rod end from the steering knuckle (refer to Outer Tie Rod End Replacement).

7. Remove the steering knuckle assembly with the front wheel hub by removing the shank of the outer constant velocity joint of the front wheel drive from the hub.

8. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

9. Check and, if necessary, adjust the wheel alignment (see Checking and Adjusting Wheel Alignment).
