
1. Disconnect the high-voltage wires from the ignition coil terminals…

2. …and measure the resistance of the secondary winding by connecting an ohmmeter to the terminals of the 2nd and 3rd cylinders. The resistance should be 8.0–9.0 kOhm.

3. Repeat the check for terminals of cylinders 1 and 4.
4. If the resistance of at least one of the secondary windings differs from the specified value, replace the ignition coil (see "Removing and installing the ignition coil").
5. Reconnect the high-voltage wires.

NOTE: Before installation, lubricate the high-voltage wire terminals with a grease such as petroleum jelly.
