Checking the ignition coil

You will need a tester or ohmmeter.



1. Disconnect the high-voltage wires from the ignition coil leads..



2.... and measure the resistance of the secondary winding by connecting an ohmmeter to the terminals of the 2nd and 3rd cylinders. The resistance should be 8.0-9.0 kOhm.



3. Repeat check for conclusions of 1st and 4th cylinders.

4. If the resistance of at least one of the secondary windings is different from the specified, replace the ignition coil (cm. «Removal and installation of the ignition coil»).

5. Reconnect the high voltage wires.

NOTE: Lubricate the high voltage wire lugs with grease such as petroleum jelly before installation.
