Central rear seat belt retractor mechanism (Focus 1)

Removal

1. Disconnect the lower center seat belt anchorage.

NOTE: The seat belt webbing retainer is supplied with new seat belts and is not unique to Focus vehicles. Do not use any other fastening method.

Before removing the seat cover and padding, install the seat belt webbing retainer.



3. Disassemble the rear seatback. For additional information, refer to Section 501-10.

4. Release the rear seat back latch.



5. Disconnect the retractor mechanism lock cable.





6. Remove the center rear seat belt retractor mechanism.

Installation

1.

CAUTION: Before completely reassembling the rear seatback, check the operation of the seat belt retractor, cable routing, and latch operation.

To install, follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
