Removal
4-door version, 5-door version and "Station wagon"
1. Disconnect the lower seat belt anchor element.

3-door version
2. Disconnect the lower seat belt anchor element.
- 1. Remove the hex bolt from the mounting element rail.
- 2. Remove the seat belt from the fastening element rail.

All cars
3. Disconnect the upper B-pillar trim panel.
NOTE: Some factory trim panels have a retaining clip installed on the leading edge.
- 1. Disconnect the mounting clamps.
- 2. Remove the bolt and washer from the lower seat belt webbing (4-door, 5-door and Estate shown).
- 3. Route the seat belt webbing through the upper B-pillar trim panel.

4. Disconnect the upper seat belt anchor element.

4-door version, 5-door version and "Station wagon"
5. Remove the lower B-pillar trim panel.

3-door version

NOTE: Screws are located behind the seat back and under the seat cushion.
Remove the lower trim panel.
- 1. Remove the bottom screw.
- 2. Remove the top screw.
- 3. Disconnect the front clamps.
- 4. Disconnect the upper clamps.

All cars
7. Detach the belt guide loop.
- 1. Pull the belt guide loop back.
- 2. Pull the belt guide loop down.
- 3. Detach the belt guide loop.

8. Remove the seat belt retractor mechanism.
- 1. Remove the bolt.
- 2. Lift and remove the retraction mechanism from the locking tab.

Installation
1.
CAUTION: Make sure the spacer is positioned correctly between the floor mat and the inside of the door sill.
CAUTION: Make sure the pin on the B-pillar trim is correctly positioned in the height adjustment mechanism.
CAUTION: Before tightening the hex bolt, make sure that the rear end of the mounting rail (3-door version) is positioned correctly.
To install, follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
