Gearbox iB5 (1st gear): arrow - power flow from the engine; 1 - drive shaft; 2 - output shaft; 3 - output gear; 4 - gear pinion - 1st gear; 5 - synchronizer locking ring - 1st/2nd gear; 6 - toothed engagement - 1st gear.
In the iB5 gearbox, only the selector cable can be adjusted in length - the shift cable cannot be adjusted. In order to adjust both cables of the MTX-75 gearbox, you need a special tool (16-088A) from Ford. It is inserted from the side onto the shift dome and then turned clockwise by 30°. To do this, the gearshift lever is set to neutral.
If the transmission is really jammed, we advise you to fix the problem in a specialized Ford workshop. From experience, there is no point in fixing the defect without the mentioned tool.
IB5 gearbox
Place the gear shift lever in neutral position.
Remove the gear shift lever trim from the clamps.
Insert a 3mm twist drill bit. See ill. about the control of the iBS manual transmission.

Raise the vehicle on a lifting platform or securely support it on tripods.
Open the cover (arrows) of the shift and selector cables under the vehicle.

Adjust the gear shifting - release the selector cable 1, to do this, press the coloured insert, set the selector lever 2 to the middle position.

Engage 3rd or 4th gear 1 (press the gearshift lever to the left or right starting position). Lock the selector cable 2.

Close the shift and selector lever cover.
Lower the car.
Remove the twist drill.
Install the gear shift lever trim.
