Blow out finer dust fragments with compressed air.
Blow dust out of the filter element from the bottom side up. If you change direction, then the dust will be pressed even deeper into the pores of the filter.
Never wash the paper filter with liquids. Otherwise, the pores of the filter will be hopelessly clogged. Consequence: engine power will drop and exhaust characteristics will deteriorate sharply.
When mounting the filter element, always make sure that the sealing surfaces lie exactly on the housing parts.
Cleaning process: Always blow through the filter element from the bottom up. Always replace the filter insert if damage is found to the filter film
