Checking the function of the switches

Sometimes the power supply is interrupted just because of faulty switches. The Focus uses a wide variety of switch types. They are best checked with a test lamp - the needle contact on the top of the lamp should be «sharp needle», but not «blunt nail». Replace faulty switches only with Genuine Ford Parts.

Stages of work

Get the latest wiring diagram for your Focus.

First check the current supply (e) the wire (A). To do this, attach a test lamp to it and pierce the insulation of the wire with the end of the needle.

Check if there is voltage at the switch. To do this, you must, as a rule, turn on the ignition or lighting.

Turn on the switch and check if the switch sends input voltage to the output.
