Checking the operation of the generator

            0

On fig. 7.1 shows the cross section of the generator. The generator has a built-in electronic voltage regulator and is driven by a V-belt. The drive belt pulley is located on the front crankshaft journal.

Checking the operation of the generator

The voltage generated by the generator is checked, as well as the regulated voltage at the generator terminals. Checking should begin with monitoring the voltage at the clamps (regulated).

When checking the operation of the generator, a fully charged battery must be connected to the vehicle's electrical network.

In order to avoid errors during verification, the following rules must be strictly observed.

Battery, alternator and regulator ground wires must be properly connected.

Under no circumstances should the generator be connected to an untested circuit.

Polarity reversal at the generator terminals is unacceptable.
