Withdrawal

Raise the car from behind on the jack stands.

Loosen propshaft to drive flange.

Unscrew the fastening of the cardan shaft to the flange of the shaft shank and remove the cardan shaft.

Installation

Before installing, check that water or dirt has not penetrated into the universal joints and that there is enough lubricant in them. If necessary, replace the lubricant or replenish its quantity. Filling volume is 90±10 g.

Caution: Use only FORD grease specification WSD-M1C237-A.

Attach cardan shaft.

Attention. From 4/93 on vehicles with ABS, a cardan shaft with constant velocity joints is used, equipped with additional seals on the outside. Such constant velocity joints can also be installed on older cars. New hinges can be recognized by the notch (for sealing) at the flange surface. In this case, attach the hinge with a new seal to the flange.

Tighten bolts securing cardan shaft to drive flange and shaft shank to 40 Nm.

Lower the car.
