Withdrawal
Depending on the vehicle equipment, pyrotechnic or mechanical seat belt tensioners can be fitted. Compare with pictures to determine. What equipment does the car have? The following description only applies to the removal of the manual seat. To remove the electric seat, you must disassemble the seat chassis, for which you should contact the service station.
Important: battery ground wire (-) disconnect with the ignition off. Isolate the negative pole of the battery to avoid accidental contact.
Caution: Disconnecting the battery will erase the contents of the electronic memories, such as engine trouble codes or radio codes. Before switching off, also read the instructions in chapter "Removing and installing the battery".
Safety instructions: After disconnecting the battery, wait at least two minutes for the capacitor to discharge. This prevents unauthorized activation of the seat belt pretensioners and the airbag assembly.
Remove the side cover from the outer seat rail.
Safety instructions: If equipped, be sure to lock the mechanical seat belt tensioner. To do this, insert the locking device attached to the seat into the hole provided for this in the seat belt pretensioner! If the locking device is missing, it should be purchased at the service station.
Move the seat all the way forward and unscrew the 3 bolts at the back.
Slide the seat all the way back and remove the 2 front bolts.
Tilt the seat forward, remove the seat adjustment lever spring and the seat belt pretensioner cable. If present, disconnect electrical connector.
Remove the front seat.
Installation
Install the seat, hang the spring of the seat adjustment lever and the cable pull of the seat belt tensioner. Connect electrical plug.
Tighten the front bolts first, then the rear bolts to 40 Nm.
Connect electrical plug.
If there is a mechanical seat belt tensioner, remove the locking device.
Push up the side cover.
Connect ground wire (-) battery.
If available, set the clock.
If required, enter the anti-theft radio code.
