Driving a car equipped with an automatic transmission

When driving a car equipped with an automatic transmission, you should pay attention to the following features:
  • when accelerating the car, the engine will run at higher speeds, which is normal and typical for an automatic transmission;
  • to quickly increase the speed of movement, you need to press the accelerator pedal all the way down and hold it in this position for some time. Increasing the engine speed and lowering the gear ratio in the gearbox will quickly increase the speed of the car;
  • if the pressure on the accelerator pedal decreases, the engine speed will decrease regardless of the driving speed. This is a normal phenomenon, resulting in significant fuel savings.

Caution! It is prohibited to increase the engine speed above 300 rpm with the handle in the "N" position.

Driving a vehicle equipped with a catalytic converter

Avoid engine operating conditions that allow unburned or partially burnt fuel to enter the catalytic converter, especially when the engine is warm:
  • do not allow the fuel tank to run dry;
  • do not run the engine for an unreasonably long time;
  • do not start the engine with the high voltage wire disconnected;
  • do not tow or push the engine when the engine is warm. Use a battery from another vehicle to jump start the engine;
  • do not turn off the engine while the vehicle is moving.

Parking a vehicle equipped with a catalytic converter

After the engine has stopped, the exhaust system continues to emit a significant amount of heat for a long time, so you should avoid parking on grass and dry leaves.
