Caution! The engine must be started with the handbrake applied. The gearshift lever must be in neutral, or in the automatic transmission, in the "P" position.

Start the engine with the lever in the "P" position.
High idle speeds on a cold engine are not allowed.
The handbrake must be applied or the foot brake pedal must be depressed.
