Driving a car equipped with an automatic transmission
When driving a car equipped with an automatic transmission, you should pay attention to the following features:
- when the car accelerates, the engine will run at high speed, which is normal and typical for an automatic transmission;
- to quickly increase the speed of movement, it is necessary to press the accelerator pedal to the stop and hold it in this position for a while. Increasing the engine speed and lowering the gear ratio in the gearbox will quickly increase the speed of the car;
- if the pressure on the accelerator pedal is reduced, the engine speed will decrease regardless of the vehicle speed. This is normal and will result in significant fuel savings.
Attention! It is forbidden to increase the engine speed over 300 rpm with the handle in position "N".
Driving a car equipped with a catalyst
Avoid such engine operating conditions under which unburned or partially burned fuel can enter the catalyst, especially when the engine is warm:
- do not allow the complete development of fuel from the fuel tank;
- do not make unreasonably long start of the engine;
- do not start the engine with the high voltage wire disconnected;
- do not start the engine by towing or pushing when the engine is warm. Use a battery from another car to start the engine;
- do not turn off the engine while driving.
Parking a car equipped with a catalyst
After stopping the engine, the exhaust system continues to emit a significant amount of heat for a long time, so parking on grass and dry leaves should be avoided.
Thermal insulation of a car equipped with a catalytic converter
The car body is equipped with thermal insulation from the catalyst. It is forbidden to paint the thermal insulation and surfaces adjacent to it. Never remove the thermal insulation from the vehicle.
