Removal and installation the front suspension strut (Scorpio 1)

1. Loosen the wheel nuts on the corresponding side of the vehicle.

2. Raise and support the front of the vehicle and remove the front wheels.

3. Using a jack, support the wishbone joint.

4. Unscrew the bolts securing the suspension strut to the wheel steering knuckle.

4. Unscrew the bolts securing the suspension strut to the wheel steering knuckle.


5. Insert tool 14.026 into the recess of the steering knuckle and turn it 90°, loosening the lower mount of the suspension strut. If there is no tool, loosen the steering knuckle with a screwdriver (indicated by the arrow) or a lever.

6. Press down on the steering knuckle until the suspension strut is released, being careful not to damage the brake hose.

7. Hang the steering knuckle from the body so that it does not touch the brake hoses.

8. In the engine compartment, unscrew the three nuts (indicated by arrows) securing the suspension strut.



9. Remove the suspension strut downwards.

10. Install the suspension strut in the appropriate place.

11. Check the centering of the shock absorber rod

12. Insert tool 14.026 into the groove of the steering knuckle and turn it 90°.

13. Install the lower part of the strut in the steering knuckle and remove tool 14.026.

14. Screw in the bolt securing the strut to the wheel steering knuckle and tighten to the appropriate torque.

15. Bolt on the wheels, lower the vehicle and tighten the wheel nuts to the appropriate torque.

16. Check the front wheel alignment.
