Removal
Disconnect the negative (-) cable from the battery.
Warning! This will erase data in electronic memory devices, such as the engine fault memory device or the radio code. Please read the section carefully "Removing and installing the battery", before disconnecting it.
Remove the mounting screw and the door opening lever cover. If equipped, disconnect the electric window lifter multi-pin connector.
Remove the window lift handle. To do this, insert a screwdriver between the washer "4" and the handle "5" near the handle axis, and remove the stopper "6", see the picture. Pull the window lift handle off the axis. Immediately after removal, insert the stopper back into the handle groove.
Remove the screws securing the inner door handle, after carefully removing the plugs with a small screwdriver.
Remove the inner trim of the outside rearview mirror, see item 17.6.
Remove the six Phillips-head screws securing the door trim panel, after removing the plugs with a small screwdriver. If present, disconnect the speaker multi-plug.
Lift the trim up and release the trim fastening along the window opening.
Remove the door trim.
If necessary, remove the four speaker mounting screws.
If necessary, carefully pull the protective film (door protection made of soundproofing material) out of the door frame and cut the glue seam with a knife.
Caution: After cutting, do not touch the adhesive seam, as this will negatively affect the strength of the bond during subsequent installation.
Installation
Install the protective film so that both adhesive seams are opposite each other. Carefully repair or replace damaged protective film, otherwise water may penetrate into the interior.
If removed, reconnect the speaker wires and secure the speaker.
Install the door trim onto the door frame. Adjust the trim so that the top edge fits into the spring clips.
Secure the door trim with six screws and insert the plugs.
With the inside door handle in the open position, install the handle cover and secure with a screw.
Install the window lift handle. To do this, install the spring stopper on the handle and put it on the splines of the axle. Install the handle so that when the door glass is closed, it is tilted forward and upward. Press the handle toward the door until it locks.
Secure the door handle and insert the plugs.
Connect the ground (-) wire to the battery terminal.
Set the time on the clock.
Set the radio anti-theft code.
