Removal and installation of the external door handle and door lock

Withdrawal

Disconnect the ground wire (-) from the battery.

Attention! As a result, data in electronic storage devices, such as an engine fault memory or a radio code, are erased. Please read the section carefully "Removing and installing the battery", before disconnecting it.

Remove the door trim.

Pull off the protective film in the area of the outer door handle.



Turn out both bolts of fastening of a decorative niche of the external door handle and remove a decorative niche.



Turn out screws with cross-shaped slots -1- of the lock of a door.

Turn out the screw -2- of fastening of protection of the external handle of a door.



Disconnect the multi-pin connections of the central lock and anti-theft equipment.




If present, remove the illumination -1- of the outer handle.

Turn out two bolts -2- and remove the lever of an internal drive.

Disconnect the multi-pin plug of the central lock from the lock. If present, disconnect the multi-pin connector of the door handle protection alarm sensor and the multi-pin connector of the locking cylinder position sensor.



Remove the handle with the lock from the door opening.



Disconnect the door handle from the lock, to do this, press the rubber block inward and pull out the handle.




Rotate the door handle 90°, pull out the two tie rods and remove the handle.

If equipped, remove the alarm sensor and locking cylinder position sensor from the lock.

Installation

If equipped, mount the alarm sensor and locking cylinder position sensor on the lock and lock them.

Attach two connecting rods and install the door handle on the lock.

Install the door handle/lock assembly on the door.

Connect the multi-pin plug of the central locking. If available, connect the multi-pin connector of the alarm sensor on the door handle guard and the multi-pin connector of the position sensor of the locking cylinder of the door lock.

Fasten the door handle/lock assembly, while tightening the three door lock screws with a torque of 10 Nm.

Install the inner lock lever and secure with two screws.

If equipped, install door handle lighting.

Connect the multi-pin connections of the central locking and anti-theft equipment.

Install the decorative niche of the outer door handle and secure with bolts.

Stick on the protective film.

Install the door trim.

Connect the ground wire to the battery terminal (-).

Set the time on the clock.

Set the radio's anti-theft code.
