Removing and installing the outer rear door handle (Mondeo 1)

Removal

Disconnect the negative (-) cable from the battery.

Warning! This will erase data in electronic memory devices, such as the engine fault memory device or the radio code. Please read the section carefully "Removing and installing the battery", before disconnecting it.

Remove the door trim.

Pull back the protective film in the area of the outer door handle.



Remove plugs "1" and unscrew both screws "2".



Remove spring lock "1" and pull out the drive rod.

Remove the door handle from the outside.

Installation

Install the door handle, adjust its position and secure with screws.

Attach the drive rod and secure it with the spring lock.

Apply the protective film.



Install the door trim.

Connect the ground (-) wire to the battery terminal. Set the clock time. Set the radio anti-theft code.
