Removing and installing the inner door handle (Mondeo 1)

Removal

Disconnect the negative (-) cable from the battery.

Warning! This will erase data in electronic memory devices, such as the engine fault memory device or the radio code. Please read the section carefully "Removing and installing the battery", before disconnecting it.

Remove the door trim.

Pull back the protective film in the area of the inner door handle.



If equipped, remove outside handle light "1".

Remove two bolts "2" and remove the inner drive lever.



Before removing the cable, it must be oriented. To do this, pull the plastic end of the cable off the handle housing. Gently press inward on the locking control lever. This will align the locking slot of the cable with the lower slot of the cable guide.





Use a small screwdriver to push the end of the cable out of the handle.

Installation

Insert the end of the cable into the handle.

Insert the plastic end of the cable into the handle body.

Install the inner drive lever and secure it with two screws.

Apply the protective film.

Install the door trim.

Connect the ground (-) wire to the battery terminal.

Set the time on the clock.

Set the radio anti-theft code.
