Removing and installing the outside mirror (Mondeo 1)

Removal

Disconnect the negative (-) cable from the battery.

Warning! This will erase data in electronic memory devices, such as the engine fault memory device or the radio code. Please read the section carefully "Removing and installing the battery", before disconnecting it.

Remove the inner mirror cover. To do this, remove the plug with a small screwdriver; place a paper pad under the screwdriver to protect the cover from damage. Unscrew the mounting bolt.



Manual mirror adjustment: Remove the adjustment handle.

Electric mirror adjustment: Disconnect the multi-pin plug.



Remove two bolts "1" and remove the outside mirror.



Check seal "2" for damage and porosity.

Installation

Install and secure the mirror, making sure the gasket is compressed correctly.

Attach the adjustment handle or connect the multi-pin plug.

Connect the ground (-) wire to the battery terminal.

Set the time on the clock.

Set the radio anti-theft code.
