Removal and installation of the lock of a cowl

Withdrawal

Disconnect the ground wire (-) from the battery.

Attention! As a result, data in electronic storage devices, such as an engine fault memory or a radio code, are erased. Please read the section carefully "Removing and installing the battery", before disconnecting it.

Disconnect the left lower side trim in the passenger compartment and unscrew it to the side. To do this, remove the Phillips screw and the two clips.



Pull up the protective cable clip on the hood lock, having previously unscrewed the nut.

Disconnect the cable from the hood latch.

Unscrew the three nuts securing the hood latch and remove the latch.

Installation

Install the lock and secure it with nuts, 10 Nm.

Attach the cable to the hood latch.

Install the cable guard and secure it with the nut.

Attach the side trim.

Connect the ground wire to the battery terminal (-).

Set the time on the clock.

Set the radio's anti-theft code.

Hood lock adjustment

Install the lock in the highest position and secure with the bottom nut only. To do this, move the lock up to the stop with the nut loosened.

Close the hood.


Loosen the nut through the gap between the hood and grille. Press the hood down until the surface of the hood matches the surfaces of the wings. In this position, tighten the bottom nut.

Open the hood and screw on the rest of the nuts.

Check the lock adjustment again.
