1. To check the correct adjustment of the parking brake, find an overpass or loading ramp near the parking place of your vehicle with a height of H = 1.25 m and an entry length of L = 5 m (Fig. 4.5). This ratio corresponds to a slope of 25%.

2. If there is no such ramp, for a simplified check of the parking brake, park the car on a level surface. Set the gearshift lever to neutral, fully raise the parking brake lever. Get out of the car and try to move it. If you succeed, you need to urgently adjust the parking brake drive (see "Adjusting the Parking Brake Drive").
