Positive crankcase ventilation valve (PCV) (1.8/2.0/1.6 Zetec-E) (Focus 1)

Removal

All cars

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Section 100-02 for additional information.

2. Remove the engine protection.



3. Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose from the PCV valve (catalytic converter removed for clarity).



Cars manufactured up to 08.2002.

4. Remove the PCV valve.



Cars manufactured since 08.2002.

CAUTION: Do not remove the PCV valve from the PCV oil separator without first turning the PCV valve. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the PCV valve.

Remove the PCV valve.

• 1. Turn the PCV valve counterclockwise.
• 2. Remove the PCV valve from the crankcase ventilation oil separator.

Installation

1. Install the elements back in place in reverse order.
