Positive crankcase ventilation valve (PCV) (1.8/2.0/1.6 Zetec-E)

Withdrawal

All cars

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Section 100-02 for more information.

2. Remove the motor protection.



3. Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation hose (PCV) from PCV valve (catalytic converter removed for clarity).



Vehicles manufactured up to 08.2002

4. Remove the PCV valve.



Vehicles manufactured since 08.2002

CAUTION: Do not remove the PCV valve from the crankcase breather oil separator without first turning the PCV valve. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the PCV valve.

Remove the PCV valve.

• 1. Turn the PCV valve counterclockwise.
• 2. Remove the PCV valve from the crankcase ventilation oil separator.

Installation

1. Replace the elements in reverse order.
