Self-check

This module has a self-test function that can be activated manually. When the self-test mode is activated, the Central Security Module (CSM) will generate visual and audible signals each time an input signal is activated.

To activate the self-test mode, the ignition must be in the OFF position. Press the interior lamp switch six times within eight seconds. Once the CSM enters the self-test mode, the module will flash the horn and turn signals once to confirm that the input signal has been received. The following are the input signals to the CSM that can be tested in the CSM self-test mode:

  • Hood switch
  • Interior light switch in driver's door
  • Passenger door interior light switch
