Steering wheel — removal and installation

Removal

1. Remove the driver air bag module. Refer to Section 501-20A / 501-20B for additional information.

2. Center the steering wheel.

• Remove the ignition key and lock the steering wheel in this position.

3. Remove the steering wheel.

• 1. Disconnect the speed control system plug connector (if equipped).
• 2. Unscrew the bolt.

Installation

WARNING: When installing the steering wheel, make sure the air bag sliding contact is centered. Refer to Section 501-20A / 501-20B for additional information. Failure to follow this instruction could result in injury.

CAUTION: After installation, check that the steering wheel is correctly positioned on the steering column shaft by turning the steering wheel counterclockwise.

1. Install the elements back in place in reverse order.
