Ignition system fault diagnostics (Scorpio 2)

First of all, you need to find out if there is an ignition spark. To do this, unscrew the spark plugs, insert them into the tips and short-circuit each spark plug individually to ground. In this case, hold the spark plug tips and high-voltage wires not with your hands, but with a well-insulated clamp. Ask an assistant to turn on the starter.

Attention. To avoid damage to the catalytic converter, it is necessary to eliminate gasoline injection. To do this, disconnect the plug connector of the valve injectors or, respectively, the fuel pump relay. Observe safety regulations when working with electronic ignition systems.

Note: it is recommended to first interrogate the fault code memory device of the engine control unit (at a service station).

Malfunction: The engine starts poorly or does not start at all.
